My First Eagle!
golf green

I got my first eagle on on Saturday, October 9th, 1999!!!

Yes, an EAGLE!!!  (That's two strokes under par, for you non-golfers.)  On the 310 yard, par 4, sixth hole of the Blue course at Salt Creek (Itasca), I pushed a highly average drive to the right of the fairway.  I was approximately 140-150 yards from the green and hit a sold 7-iron.  The ball bounced once in front of the green, left of the pin and began to roll right.  And it kept rolling. And rolling. Until suddenly, the ball just disappeared.

I looked at Greg and he looked at me.  I asked him if he had just seen what I had just seen and he confirmed it, "I think it went in the hole!"  I had to cover my mouth from screaming my head off as I nearly lost it completely.  Greg and I drove up to the green and raced to the hole to confirm the shot.  It was, indeed, at the bottom of the cup.

It was only then when Greg asked me what par the hole was that I realized that I had not only made the shot of a lifetime, but I had also made my first eagle!

Needless to say, I was worthless the rest of the day.  If Greg had not been there to witness it, I don't know what I would have done.  When we got home, none of my family or friends were at home to hear my glorious tale!

Now only need a hole-in-one and I can die a happy golfer!
